Job DescriptionJourneyman PipefitterPosition Overview

The Journeyman Pipefitter plays a critical role in field operations, performing skilled work that ensures mechanical systems are built safely, accurately, and to last. This position requires strong technical expertise in piping systems, the ability to read and interpret drawings, and hands-on experience with installation, welding, rigging, testing, and system startup.

Working alongside experienced leaders and collaborative teams, Journeyman Pipefitters contribute directly to project success while continuing to develop their craft. Whether advancing toward leadership or becoming a technical expert, this role offers long-term growth and stability within a high-performance construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform trade-specific piping and mechanical installation tasks on active construction sites

  • Read and interpret isometric drawings, blueprints, and specifications

  • Layout pipe runs and perform welding, rigging, system testing, and equipment startup

  • Oversee crew productivity and support schedule and deadline adherence

  • Perform material takeoffs, requisitions, and tool/equipment coordination as needed

  • Conduct quality control inspections and ensure work meets codes and standards

  • Troubleshoot technical issues and support diagnostics when required

  • Complete planned maintenance tasks and associated documentation

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent experience

  • Journeyman or Master Journeyman license required

  • Strong working knowledge of piping systems, tools, equipment, and materials

  • Familiarity with applicable building codes and regulations

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship

  • Strong problem-solving and technical aptitude

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform hands-on trade work
