Supplier Quality Engineer | Norton Shores, MI

Salary Range: $76,000 - $109,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality control plans for incoming materials and components.
• Conduct supplier audits to assess their quality management systems and compliance.
• Investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues, including non-conformances and complaints.
• Collaborate with suppliers to drive continuous improvement in their processes and product quality.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supplier quality.
• Review and approve supplier PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation.
• Manage supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) and ensure timely and effective closure.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) activities by evaluating supplier capabilities and readiness.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in supplier quality management within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
• Experience with quality tools and methodologies (e.g., APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to conduct supplier audits and drive corrective actions.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with statistical process control (SPC) software and methodologies.
• - Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
• - Certification in relevant quality standards (e.g., ASQ CQE, ISO 9001).
• - Experience with root cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D, Fishbone diagrams).
• - Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Minitab, Tableau).
