Insurance Customer Service Representative
Location: Chicago, IL 60631 (Near O’Hare Airport)
Pay Rate: $24.70 per hour
Schedule: 40 hours per week | Training onsite for 7–8 weeks, then hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Our client in the insurance industry, located in Chicago near O’Hare Airport, is seeking a Customer Service Representative to support their Worksite Insurance team. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering $24.70 per hour, with full-time hours and a hybrid schedule following an initial onsite training period.
Position Overview:
The Customer Service Representative will serve as the first point of contact for policyholders, providing support on insurance-related inquiries and requests. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, problem-solver, and empathetic professional who is committed to delivering high-quality service.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to incoming calls from policyholders regarding insurance products, claims, billing, and service-related inquiries
- Provide accurate information regarding policy status and coverage
- Assist with basic troubleshooting for self-service tools
- Support claim intake and forward leads to the appropriate internal teams when needed
- Meet or exceed departmental KPIs including call quality, handle time, and documentation accuracy
- Participate in ongoing training, mentorship, and potential cross-functional support
Required Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of customer service experience, preferably in insurance or a related field
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and call center software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain calm under pressure
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM CT
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with insurance policies and terminology
- Experience with worksite products and systems
- Prior exposure to claims handling or policy servicing
Additional Information:
- Interview process may involve two rounds, including an onsite interview
- Training is conducted onsite for the first 7–8 weeks; hybrid schedule applies afterward
- This role offers the potential to convert to a permanent position based on performance
