Our client, a well-established manufacturer near the Deforest area, is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee safety programs across multiple facilities. This key leadership role ensures workplace safety and regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and proactive risk management.


Shift: Monday-Friday 7:30AM-4:15PM (hours are flexible on start/end time)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, DOT, EPA, DHS, etc.) through oversight of written safety programs, audits, training, and documentation.
  • Administer and update policies related to:
  1. Hazard Communication Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
  2. Respiratory Protection Confined Space Entry PPE & Ergonomics OSHA Reporting & Emergency Preparedness
  3. Industrial Hygiene & Exposure Control Forklift and Crane Safety
  4. Incident Reporting and Root Cause Analysis Fire Safety, First Aid/CPR/AED, and more
  • Lead the Safety Committee and provide strategic safety guidance.
  • Conduct facility audits and inspections; drive corrective action planning and implementation.
  • Serve as the primary contact for third-party inspections, insurance audits, and regulatory agency visits.
  • Train employees during onboarding and ongoing sessions; develop and manage training materials.
  • Manage the workers' compensation process, including claims, return-to-work plans, and program review.
  • Provide support for the enforcement of company policies, including the Drug and Alcohol policy.
  • Research and procure safety equipment and supplies. Analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Risk Management, or related field — or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing workers’ compensation programs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to conduct safety training and develop engaging content.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHST, or OSHA 30-hour are highly desirable.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred.
