In Home Wellcare, a licensed home care agency in Providence, Rhode Island, is seeking a Registered Nurse to serve as Program Coordinator for our CNA training program, in accordance with Rhode Island Department of Health requirements for nursing assistant training programs.
Responsibilities include: overseeing the day to day operation of the CNA training program; coordinating classroom instruction and supervised practical training; ensuring the curriculum and program delivery meet Rhode Island Department of Health requirements; supervising and evaluating instructors and trainees; and maintaining program records and documentation.
Requirements (all four are required by the RI Department of Health):
- Active, unrestricted Rhode Island RN license
- A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience at the RN or LPN level
- At least 1 of those years working as an RN or LPN in a long term care setting (skilled nursing facility). Hospital or acute care experience alone does not satisfy this requirement, and time worked as a CNA does not count.
- Experience teaching or supervising staff, such as training or supervising CNAs
Spanish language ability a plus but not required.
