We are looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor on a contract basis to oversee a critical account reconciliation project for trust bank accounts. This role requires strong leadership skills to manage a team of senior accountants while ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of reconciliation processes. The position is based in Richardson, Texas, and offers a long-term contract opportunity.
This is a 3-4 month contract position
100% ONSITE in Richardson, Texas
Law firm experience is highly desirable
CPA is required. Must have CPA certification
Accounting Supervisor with CPA (contract position):
Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of senior accountants to ensure accurate reconciliation of multiple client trust accounts.
• Manage and oversee bank accounts across various locations, addressing thousands of active cases.
• Develop recommendations to optimize tracking and reconciling funds at the case level.
• Investigate reconciliation issues, document root causes, and create detailed procedures to improve processes.
• Collaborate with IT and software teams to enhance case-level tracking methods, including incorporating case numbers.
• Communicate effectively with firm leadership, internal departments, and external partners, providing updates and solutions.
• Partner with legal, software, and banking teams to implement best practices for reconciliation and compliance.
• Deliver accurate reconciliations and solutions under tight deadlines.
• Identify and implement strategies to monitor and track potential losses.
• Draft actionable proposals for process and software improvements, along with implementation plans.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required.
• Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams, particularly in trust account settings.
• Expertise in handling trust accounts and performing bank reconciliations.
• Familiarity with the legal industry is strongly preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of bank account operations, controls, and reconciliation processes.
• Skilled in documenting workflows and analyzing process inefficiencies.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills, capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all deliverables.
CPA certification is required (no exceptions)
