Job Description

Job DescriptionOur client is seeking an experienced Payroll Coordinator to support their payroll and accounting operations in Pittsburgh, PA. This position will begin on a contract basis with the possibility of long-term or permanent employment depending on future workflow after their upcoming payroll system implementation. They need a strong payroll professional who can maintain accuracy, manage union payroll requirements, and support the transition while also assisting with general accounting tasks. We are looking for someone who is system-savvy, collaborative, adaptable, and able to step in quickly if needed.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for both non-union office staff and union field employees
  • Handle union benefits, deductions, and related reporting
  • Audit timesheets and troubleshoot discrepancies
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing
  • Enter AP invoices and assist with AR processing
  • Run basic accounting and job-cost reports
  • Participate in process improvement during and after system transition
  • Assist with marketing or administrative projects if interested

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Foundation software experience is required
  • Union payroll experience strongly preferred
  • At least 2 years of payroll processing experience with high attention to detail
  • System-savvy and comfortable learning new platforms quickly
  • Experience with basic accounting (AP/AR entry, reporting)
  • Positive, team-oriented, and adaptable to change
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • ADP Workforce Now experience is helpful but not required

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Onsite in Pittsburgh (RIDC Park area)
  • Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with some flexibility

Pay Details: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour
