Job Description

This role supports a high-volume food production facility by rotating through multiple stations on the production line, including tray cleaning, dough handling, and line operations. The position requires a strong work ethic, the ability to perform heavy lifting, and comfort working in a fast-paced, cold-temperature environment on an overnight schedule. Bilingual candidates are highly preferred, and the role requires adherence to strict safety and food quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all required safety tests and training courses within the first two to three days and demonstrate consistent adherence to safety procedures.
  • Rotate through six production areas, including mixing, trays, washer, tracer, crosser, and line, as assigned by leadership.
  • Clean and sanitize trays that return dirty from deliveries by sliding them into a prep station where they are soaked, cleaned, and sanitized according to established standards.
  • Stack cleaned trays 20–30 high and transport them safely to the placing station for further processing.
  • Assist at the placing station where dough is placed into cleaned trays, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Work on the processing line and maintain the required pace, eventually keeping up with a rhythm of approximately 1,000 trays per hour.
  • Follow specific standards and performance expectations for each assigned position on the production line.
  • Support mixing and batching activities, including learning how dough batches are taken up a lift, placed into a hopper, rounded, and passed through a metal detector.
  • Consistently lift up to 50 pounds, using team lifting techniques for heavier items to maintain safety.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work area in accordance with GMP and food preparation guidelines.
  • Communicate clearly in English, both reading and writing, to follow work instructions, safety procedures, and production documentation.
  • Demonstrate reliability by consistently reporting to scheduled shifts, including overnight hours, Sundays, and holidays.
  • Collaborate with team members, show respect in all interactions, and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
  • Work overtime as required, typically up to two hours beyond the scheduled shift, with notice provided around the lunch break.
  • Adapt to schedule changes with some flexibility, understanding that weekly schedules are posted in advance and regular days off are Tuesday and Friday.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of production experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or general production environment.
  • Ability to consistently lift up to 50 pounds and participate in team lifts for heavier items.
  • Ability to read and write in English to understand instructions, safety materials, and production documentation.
  • Experience with production, warehouse operations, general production, or packaging work.
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment and keep up with production targets such as 1,000 trays per hour.
  • Willingness and ability to work an overnight shift starting around 3:00 AM with some schedule flexibility.
  • Willingness to work mandatory overtime, typically up to two additional hours per shift as needed.
  • Availability to work Sundays and holidays as part of the regular schedule.
  • Commitment to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards.
  • Physical stamina to work on your feet for extended periods and handle repetitive tasks.
  • Demonstrated reliability, teamwork, and respect for colleagues and workplace rules.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bilingual ability is highly preferred and considered a strong asset.
  • Experience in food production, food preparation, or food handling environments.
  • Familiarity with tray washing, sanitizing, and handling procedures in a production setting.
  • Exposure to batching and mixing processes, including handling dough or similar materials.
  • Comfort working in cold and wet environments, including refrigerated and freezer areas.
  • Ability to learn complex tasks such as mixing over a training period of approximately three weeks to one month.
  • Strong attention to detail to meet quality standards for each production station.
