We are hiring a Propane Service Technician to join our team, responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of residential and commercial LP gas systems and appliances. This role requires following company policies, NFPA 54/58 standards, and Alabama LP Gas Board regulations. The technician conducts leak and pressure tests, identifies unsafe or outdated materials, completes documentation, and communicates effectively to ensure safety and outstanding customer service. Key duties include:

  • Install, repair, and maintain LP gas systems and appliances, both residential and commercial
  • Comply with company procedures and regulatory standards (NFPA 54, NFPA 58, Alabama LP Gas Board) when installing tanks, piping, heaters, and appliances
  • Properly perform leak tests and pressure tests to ensure efficiency and safety, and complete required documentation
  • Identify and modify unsafe or outdated materials or components
  • Read, write, communicate, and comprehend English to effectively interact with coworkers and the public, understand instructions and policies, and accurately complete reports and records
  • Clearly relay safety precautions and the functions of gas systems to customers and provide excellent service
  • Securely load, transport, and deliver propane and related cargo
  • Assist with propane gas delivery when needed
  • Install, connect, and disconnect appliances, and light pilots on gas appliances

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 23 years of age
  • Must possess CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsement or be able to obtain within 60 days of employment
  • Ability to pass pre-employment DOT physical, drug test, and Homeland Security Background Check.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills and competency with hand and power tools.
  • Attend monthly Safety Meetings, complete refresher training every 3 years, and complete all assigned ongoing training in a timely manner
  • Must be able to pass all required competency tests within 120 days and follow all requirements of the Alabama LPGB.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently but be willing to work in a team environment and promote teamwork and positive attitudes.
  • Requires frequent bending, kneeling, stooping and climbing.

Pay is based on experience and productivity

Preference given to applicants CDL with Hazmat and Tanker and propane certifications.
