Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time position is for a Special Education Teacher in a K-12 resource classroom setting, located in Aurora, CO. The role is based at a high school and requires immediate availability, with employment extending through May 22, 2026. The position offers a standard 40-hour workweek.

Qualifications and Required Experience:

  • Hold a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Professional Teacher License.
  • Endorsement in Special Education Generalist (5-21) is mandatory.
  • Applications from candidates with temporary, substitute, or interim licenses will only be considered if proof of application for the appropriate SPED license with the correct endorsement is provided.
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching and instructional strategies tailored for special education.
  • Strong understanding of Specially Designed Instruction to support students on alternative standards.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the IEP team and other educational professionals.
  • This role is not available for virtual or hybrid work arrangements.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction in a resource classroom environment to support students with diverse educational needs.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Employ evidence-based strategies that enhance learning outcomes for students across K-12 grade levels.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and progress reports in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and professional development activities.
