Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate hearing health and determine appropriate treatment options
  • Perform detailed hearing tests using specialized equipment, ensuring accurate diagnosis and device fitting
  • Fit, program, and adjust hearing instruments to optimize performance based on individual physiology and lifestyle needs
  • Educate patients on device operation, maintenance, and care to promote long-term satisfaction and usage
  • Collaborate with audiologists and healthcare professionals to develop personalized treatment plans
  • Maintain thorough documentation of patient interactions, assessments, and device adjustments in compliance with medical terminology standards
  • Stay current with advancements in hearing technology, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and anatomy knowledge related to auditory health

Requirements

  • Proven experience or training in occupational health or audiology-related fields
  • Strong patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations, including pediatrics
  • Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to auditory health and hearing devices
  • Ability to perform patient assessments accurately and efficiently using specialized equipment
  • Familiarity with intake procedures, ICD coding for billing purposes, and documentation standards
  • Understanding of pediatric hearing needs and the ability to communicate effectively with children and their families
  • Prior experience or knowledge related to occupational health is a plus but not mandatory; eagerness to learn is essential
