Job Ad – Lab Technician I (Recruited)
Location: Savannah, GA
Pay Rate: $24.00–$25.00/hr (W-2)
Start Date: 07/28/2025 | End Date: 12/31/2025
Schedule: DuPont rotating shift (see below)
This is a long-term contract role. Possible extension or direct hire.
Our client, a global leader in specialty chemicals manufacturing, is seeking a Lab Technician I to join their Savannah-based Quality Control Lab. This is a contract opportunity with potential for long-term extension. You’ll be working in a fast-paced production support lab, conducting hands-on analysis and preparing critical samples to support continuous plant operations.
Key Responsibilities

Perform routine QC testing on catalysts, microspheres, alumina, and other materials following SOPs.

Operate and maintain lab instrumentation including balances, pH meters, atomic absorption, XRF/XRD, particle size analyzers, and microwave digestion ovens.

Prepare and process samples for final shipment, effluent discharge, and internal R&D.

Ensure EHS compliance, follow lab safety protocols, and maintain accurate documentation of all test results.

Communicate analytical results with operations teams and contribute to lab meeting discussions.

Utilize LIMS for sample tracking, data entry, and reporting.

Monitor consumables and restock inventory as needed.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline (2+ years lab experience may substitute for degree)

Hands-on experience with wet chemistry, analytical techniques, or quality control

Ability to troubleshoot equipment and follow written procedures

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

Strong communication and time management skills

Comfortable working 12-hour rotating shifts and potential overtime
Training & Schedule

Initial training: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–3:00 PM (1-hour lunch)

Post-training schedule: Follows DuPont 12-hour rotating shift with days/nights alternating and built-in overtime pay opportunities. Every fourth week is scheduled OFF.
