A precision manufacturing company located in the Downers Grove area is seeking a detail-oriented Line Inspector to join their quality team. This individual will perform in-process and final inspections on precision machined components, ensuring compliance with strict customer and industry quality standards.
Responsibilities:

Perform in-process and final inspections of precision parts using a variety of hand and digital measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, etc.).

Verify part dimensions and surface finish against blueprints, specifications, and inspection plans.

Document inspection results, nonconformances, and test data using established quality procedures.

Support production by communicating quality issues or dimensional discrepancies to operators and supervisors in real time.

Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and process sheets to confirm part compliance.

Assist in maintaining calibration of measurement tools and inspection records.

Uphold all company and customer quality requirements for traceability, documentation, and cleanliness.
Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or quality inspection role, preferably within aerospace, automotive, or precision machining industries.

Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.

Proficient with precision measurement instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, etc.).

Experience with CMM operation or data review is a plus but not required.

High attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining quality standards.
