JOB TITLE – HR Assistant (Part-Time)

DEPARTMENT – Human Resources

REPORTS TO – VP of Human Resources/HR Business Partner


SUMMARY
The HR Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. This role assists with recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, personnel records, compliance, and general administrative duties. The HR Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of HR functions while providing excellent internal service to employees and managers.


JOB ENVIRONMENT
Office environment with flexible part-time hours. Typical schedule may range from 15–20 hours per week, depending on department needs. May require occasional overtime during peak HR cycles (e.g., open enrollment, audits).


SKILLS, EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

· High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred

· 1–2 years of administrative or HR experience preferred (internships count!)

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication

· Discretion and ability to handle confidential information

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

· Familiarity with Workday is a plus

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Assist with maintaining and updating employee records in physical and digital formats

· Assist with maintaining compliance records and reports

· Post job openings, screen resumes, and schedule interviews

· Coordinate pre-employment background checks and drug screens

· Prepare new hire paperwork and assist with onboarding sessions

· Maintain candidate tracking spreadsheets and documentation

· Assist with coordination of employee events, recognition programs, and morale initiatives

· Help with tracking mandatory training and compliance documents

· Provide backup support for payroll or benefits administration, if necessary

· Assist with special HR projects and process improvements

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Part-time role; schedule to be determined based on availability and HR priorities

· May require flexible hours during audits, benefits enrollment, or hiring surges

· Must maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the role

COMPENSATION

$18.00/hour - $22.00/hour. This range is inclusive of multiple job levels. Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
