Job Description
The Warehouse Worker plays a key role in a clean, air-conditioned facility, handling and processing electronic equipment and related materials. In this role, you use hand tools to disassemble electronics and computer components, perform inventory-related data entry using a proprietary system and Microsoft Excel, and rotate through multiple warehouse departments to support a variety of tasks. The position is hands-on, requires regular lifting up to 40 lbs, and involves standing for the duration of an 8-hour shift while working collaboratively within a large, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Disassemble electronic equipment, including computer components, outdated or damaged server racks, and memory banks using basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, drills, and hammers.
- Handle material sorting to ensure components and metals are properly categorized for resale, destruction, or recycling, maintaining strong attention to detail throughout the process.
- Perform inventory-related tasks using a proprietary internal computer system and Microsoft Excel to accurately track, update, and record items and materials.
- Rotate through several departments within the warehouse to support different tasks and workflows, adapting to slight variations in daily responsibilities.
- Lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to approximately 40 lbs on a regular basis while maintaining safe material handling practices.
- Stand and remain active for an entire 8-hour shift, maintaining productivity and focus in a warehouse environment.
- Follow written instructions and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent, compliant, and efficient handling of equipment and materials.
- Use RF scanners, packing and picking processes, and unloading procedures as needed to support overall warehouse operations.
- Work collaboratively with a large warehouse team, contributing to a teamwork-oriented environment and communicating effectively with colleagues.
- Wear required steel toe or composite safety boots while working on site to comply with safety standards and protect against workplace hazards.
Essential Skills
- 1–2 years of warehouse experience preferred, with exposure to inventory, material handling, packing, picking, and unloading activities.
- Proficiency with basic hand tools, including screwdrivers, drills, and hammers, and the ability to safely use them throughout the workday.
- Computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Excel for inventory tracking and data entry tasks.
- Ability to learn and use a proprietary internal computer system for inventory and data management.
- Ability to follow written directions and standard operating procedures accurately and consistently.
- Capability to stand and remain on your feet for an 8-hour shift in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to regularly lift and handle items up to approximately 40 lbs using safe lifting techniques.
- Strong attention to detail when sorting materials and processing electronic equipment.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment, collaborating and communicating effectively with coworkers.
- Availability to work a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Ownership and use of steel toe or composite safety boots while working on site.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in large warehouse teams and cross-functional environments.
- Familiarity with RF scanners and basic warehouse technology for tracking and handling inventory.
- Comfort working with electronic equipment, including computers, racks, servers, and related components.
- Willingness to be cross-trained in multiple departments and to perform varied tasks from day to day.
- Reliability and consistency in attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Basic understanding of data handling and the importance of secure processing of electronic equipment.

Work Environment

The facility is very clean and air conditioned, providing a comfortable environment compared with typical warehouses. Work is hands-on and physically active, requiring standing for an 8-hour shift and regularly lifting up to approximately 40 lbs. The company cross-trains employees across all departments, so daily tasks can vary and may include material handling, packing, picking, unloading, and inventory work using RF scanners and computer systems. The schedule runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, offering consistent daytime hours. Steel toe or composite safety boots are required attire on site, and the culture emphasizes teamwork, cooperation, and strong attention to detail while sorting and handling materials.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Front Royal, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
