Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A rewarding opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to serve middle school students in West Hartford, CT, for the upcoming school year on a contract basis. This position focuses on delivering tailored educational support to students requiring special education services within a dynamic and inclusive middle school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for middle school students with special needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including paraeducators and related service providers, to support student progress.
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Monitor student performance and progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians.
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching license appropriate for the state of Connecticut.
  • Experience working with middle school-aged students in special education settings.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and behavioral support strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.

Location:West Hartford, CT Middle School Setting

Contract Details:
