This position focuses on delivering tailored educational support to students requiring special education services within a dynamic and inclusive middle school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for middle school students with special needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including paraeducators and related service providers, to support student progress.
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Monitor student performance and progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state regulations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching license appropriate for the state of Connecticut.
- Experience working with middle school-aged students in special education settings.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and behavioral support strategies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
