Job Description:
The Roads and Grounds Lead is responsible for assisting the Roads and Grounds Supervisor in leading the Roads & Grounds team on all landscape projects throughout the Property. Will assist the Supervisor with keeping accurate records, promoting job worksite safety, providing excellent customer service, and exhibits pride and quality workmanship.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ability to work closely with Leadership team in the installation of all landscape projects.
- Maintain a clean job site, orderly and stocked equipment trailer.
- Assist with teaching and training team members to ensure proper procedures and processes are followed and ensure quality of work is achieved.
- Maintain and care for company equipment, tools and vehicles.
- Assist Leadership team with forecasting equipment, labor and material needs to ensure efficient production when needed.
- Assist with directing, overseeing and participating in work performed by the team. This is a very hands-on position and requires this person to perform any task asked of the team. You will be expected to work alongside them.
- Ability to understand and meet project schedule deadlines without sacrificing great customer service or excellent quality.
- Assist Leadership team with completing project documentation in an organized and timely manner when requested.
- Attend training classes and seminars as requested by management.
- Knowledge of and competence in the use of all tools used by the landscape shop.
- Diligence, focus, and timeliness in the completion of assigned tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions and implement plans.
- Ability to effectively communicate with managers and co-workers.
- Ability to work outdoors and in, with, or around various types of vegetation.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, twist, squat/crouch and bend for extended periods of time (usually six hours or more per shift).
- Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces above and below ground.
- Manual dexterity and strength sufficient to safely operate equipment and tools.
- Ability to see and read printed material with or without vision aids.
- Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels with or without hearing aids.
- Ability speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly (in person and on the telephone/radio).
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to carry and constantly grip up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or handle objects or equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to function within the guidelines of the policies implemented by TPS management, including as to conduct, dress code, use of property, job competence, and integrity.
- Ability to perform the physical and mental requirements of the job.
- Ability to adhere to the Company’s attendance policy.
- Ability to maneuver equipment on uneven ground, inclines.
- Employee must enter into a Vehicle agreement and possess a valid operator's license for the class of Company Vehicle being driven.

Competencies and Experience:
- Must possess a high school diploma (GED) and some experience in grounds maintenance/horticulture activities, or any equivalent combination of education combination of education and experience that would provide the noted knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Knowledge of safety procedures, pruning methods and standard practices/terminology of the trade.
- Working knowledge of, and the ability to safely operate all hand tools and power equipment used in landscaping activities.
- Working knowledge and skills in the operation and repair of landscape equipment.
Work Environment:
The job involves the operation of equipment that might be dangerous, such as chain saws and lawnmowers requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly exposed to loud noise levels; fumes or airborne particles from engine exhaust; outside weather conditions; wet and /or humid conditions; extreme heat and/or cold; and exposure to insects and animal bites and stings; and exposure to poisonous or allergy-inducing plants. Duties are typically performed outdoors in a ground maintenance environment with some work indoors when performing maintenance on equipment. Overtime hours will be required periodically and willingness to work overtime is a condition of employment.
