Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a school-based setting. This is a full-time, on-site position near Cannon Air Force Base, offering the chance to collaborate with an outstanding OT team for the entirety of the school year.
You will be working with a dedicated team, making a direct impact through meaningful intervention, documentation, and team collaboration. The role is itinerant, offering dynamic experiences across multiple locations within the district.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current New Mexico COTA licensure required
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage a dynamic caseload collaboratively
- Familiarity with school-based documentation and report writing
- Must be detail-oriented, flexible, and proactive in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs
- Collaborate closely with OTs, teachers, and other educational staff to support student goals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including report-writing and progress updates
- Travel between school sites (itinerant) to deliver services as needed
- Assist in developing strategies and modifications to support student participation and independence
