Geiger, the largest privately held promotional products distributor in the US, is seeking a Client Account Manager to join our company.
Job Summary
The Client Account Manager works directly with a Geiger Sales Partner and serves as an Account Manager for that Sales
Partner providing support to the Sales Partner as well as promotional product consultation to buyers, prospects and existing
Key Account contacts. The Client account Manager will learn about Sales Partners’ Key Accounts, including the historical
needs, tendencies, and service requirements of those Key Accounts. The Client account Manager has a thorough
knowledge of industry suppliers, products, production, and decoration process.
Essential Functions
Demonstrate outstanding sales performance and customer consultative abilities in the promotional products arena taking
advantage of inbound and outbound sales opportunities. Develop relationships with potential customers and maximize relationships with existing customers to ensure that client’s marketing and promotional objectives are met.
Will understand the Sales Partners Key Account revenue goals as well as regional sales goals, and proactively assist in
meeting or exceeding those goals. Provide aggressive competitive pricing through research and negotiation, especially when volume goes beyond special pricing with Star Suppliers and Production partners or when required in competitive situations.
Will obtain, prepare, and present product offerings, proposals, quotes, and case histories to clients. Will stay current with
product, supplier, decoration, and service trends in the industry, and provide timely and innovative solutions to customers’
branding and marketing needs.
Will ensure product recommendations conform to Geiger purchasing objectives, understand product safety laws and ensure
all purchasing adheres to Geiger’s and the industry’s guidelines and compliance standards for labeling, testing, and product
safety requirements.
This position will require direct contact with a Sales Partner, their customers, and new sales prospects and contacts. In
addition, some travel will be required to recruit new clients and strengthen our relationships with existing clients. Will serve as
the primary coordinator of client presentations as well as participate in trade shows and conventions.
Based on sales, profitability, and service objectives, will develop value-added services for accounts within their portfolio. Such
services may include but are not limited to the following: develop seasonal or event specific supplements; coordinate ancillary
sales incentive, recognition, service award programs; coordinate on-site selling or awareness events. Determine and communicate the need for additional staffing for events. Initiate, coordinate, and lead meetings with senior client representatives to review sales and marketing objectives for accounts and present additional solutions to reach those objectives.
Use necessary tools, such as sales analysis, profitability analysis and corporate branding guidelines. Develop and execute
marketing plans as required. Develop and execute client Marketing Plans.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Reach and exceed sales and customer service standards.
• Up-sell, cross-sell, and offer items/specials using sales techniques to maximize every sales opportunity and promote
customer brand.
• Call on self-generated customers and prospecting leads as well as company provided sales leads.
• Obtain referrals from current customer base and reach out to these potential customers in a timely manner to secure
additional business.
• Follow-up on quotes, samples, orders, and other ancillary lists generated in a timely and professional manner to exceed
customer expectations and grow sales.
• Provide custom quotes to customers utilizing Geiger’s extensive Star Supplier and Production Partner network.
Carry out administrative duties to support sales and marketing activities, including order self-promotion aids and spec
samples; write up and/or enter orders in P+, Geiger’s OMS (Order management System) for Sales Partners. Seek
appropriate approvals from Regional Vice President for low margin agreements outside of authority. Conduct research and
resolve problems presented by personnel from other functions.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Duties require knowledge and proficiency in math, writing, public speaking, professional negotiation and use of computers equivalent to 4 years of college. Work requires 4 years of related experience in sales, relationship management and/or senior account management.

Certification Requirement
Industry knowledge obtained through CAS/MAS Certification. Position requires industry certification at the MAS (Master
Advertising Specialist) level.
Supervisor Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance and training concerning some elements of assigned clients and/or Key Accounts to appropriate department associates.
