Job Description

We are seeking a skilled machine operator for our washer department, responsible for operating a tumbling machine. This role involves ensuring each machine is filled with the correct amount of chemicals and parts, and then operating the machine to clean and smooth the edges of parts. The position requires some measuring to check parts' dimensions using calipers and micrometers.

Responsibilities

• Perform timely tumbling, degreasing, cleaning, and de-slugging of parts to meet specifications.
• Clean, fill, and maintain solutions, equipment, and tanks, including minor lubrication.
• Follow existing tumbling procedures while identifying opportunities for process improvements.
• Inventory supplies and notify the supervisor as needed.
• Efficiently process multiple jobs and prioritize tasks by due dates and dispatch reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Experience operating a machine in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret calipers and micrometers.
• Knowledge of blueprint reading and deburring.
• Skills in production troubleshooting and grinding.
• Proficiency in chemical tumbling and machine operation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• ITAR Certification required.
• Ability to interpret drawings, follow routers, and use shop math.
• Proficient in using handheld measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Understanding of tolerances, such as +/- .005.
• Physical ability to lift 50 pounds.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
