The Export Salesperson is responsible for developing and managing international sales of spare and replacement parts within the medium to heavy-duty truck industry. The role requires strong product knowledge, sales execution, and working knowledge of export regulations and logistics to support global customers and ensure compliant, timely delivery of parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and manage international customer and distributor accounts for commercial truck and heavy-duty parts.
- Prospect new export customers and respond to international RFQs.
- Participate in international trade events, customer visits, or market development activities as needed.
- Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing and terms, and process export sales orders.
- Meet assigned sales goals and performance objectives.
- Provide technical guidance on part specifications, applications, and compatibility.
- Prepare and manage export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations, international trade laws, customs requirements, and Incoterms.
- Coordinate with internal parts, warehouse, logistics, and operations teams to fulfill export orders.
- Communicate delivery timelines and shipment status to international customers.
- Work with freight forwarders and customs brokers to resolve shipping or documentation issues.
- Maintain accurate customer, order, and sales records in CRM and ERP/DMS systems.
- Monitor global market trends and identify opportunities for sales growth.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of commercial truck, automotive, or heavy-duty parts.
- Understanding of international trade practices, export documentation, and shipping procedures.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across different time zones.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with CRM and ERP/DMS systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in parts sales, export sales, or international customer service.
- Experience in commercial trucking, heavy-duty equipment, or automotive parts preferred.
- Proficiency in a second language (Spanish preferred) is beneficial.
Working Conditions
- Office-based with frequent computer and phone use.
- Flexible work hours to account for different time zones.
- Occasional travel may be required.
