- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (May 11, 2026 – August 9, 2026)\n
- Shift: 8 Hour Days (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM), mostly day shift\n
- Hours per Week: 40\n
- Call Requirement: 10-12 days/month (CVOR call rotation)\n
- Unit: Operating Room (CVOR) — cardiac surgery / cardiovascular OR\n
\n\nJob Requirements\n
- \n
- Active RN license (Iowa or compact state) — eligible travel nurse licensure\n
- CVOR / cardiac OR experience required (minimum 1 year) — perioperative nursing experience preferred\n
- BLS certification required\n
- Ability to take HEART cases (cardiac surgery competency)\n
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, health history, competency testing, etc.)\n
\n\nResponsibilities\n
- \n
- Assist in cardiovascular and cardiac surgical procedures in the CVOR as a perioperative nurse\n
- Provide comprehensive perioperative patient care, including pre-op assessment, intra-op support, and post-op recovery\n
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and OR staff to ensure safe cardiac surgery workflows\n
- Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique, infection control, and patient safety protocols\n
- Participate in the CVOR call rotation as required\n
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in electronic medical records (EMR)\n
