Your Impact

  • Install and service commercial door systems with precision.
  • Diagnose and repair failures involving springs, hinges, locks, operators, and electrical components.
  • Set up and fine-tune locks, handles, closers, and access control hardware.
  • Confirm each job meets applicable safety and building code standards.
  • Guide customers through findings, explain repair options, and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Document work thoroughly—visits, repairs, installations, and parts.
  • Troubleshoot efficiently to resolve issues quickly and correctly.
  • Verify work quality to meet Vortex’s standards.

Schedule

Full-time shifts are available between Vortex business hours of 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday with potential overtime and on-call hours.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years in commercial door service is a plus; door brand and hardware knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting ability.
  • Comfort doing math with fractions and reading a tape measure accurately.
  • Professional communication and a customer-first mindset.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Working knowledge of safety rules and dedication to following them.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical readiness to lift and bend repeatedly, climb ladders up to 20’, work on knees for extended periods, and operate power tools proficiently.
  • Openness to ongoing training and development.
