Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Field and Shop Superintendent to handle scheduling of crews, to oversee several ongoing construction projects to ensure satisfactory & timely completion, and to maintain inventory and tools in the shop.
Ideal candidate has a background in construction management, with expertise in project scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
Candidate MUST be organized.
Candidate MUST have leadership skills to effectively and efficiently supervise teams, ensuring that projects are completed on-time and within scope.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations, including being in charge of keeping stock of all inventory (e.g., material, tools, and necessities for the several crews to perform their jobs, etc.); also keep account for all trucks and tools kept on the trucks.
- Manage project schedules and make sure crews are on-time and performing as expected.
- Make daily visits to several jobs (construction sites) that are going on to make sure project requirements are being met and monitor progress, as well as ensure quality control, adherence to our Company's contracts and standards, and applicable safety regulations and standard.
- Promptly address any issues or conflicts that arise on-site, ensuring minimal disruption to the project timeline.
- Be responsible for crew members meeting company standards and terminating those who do not.
- Hiring new crew members and providing training and guidance.
- Providing a daily report of the day's activities and each crew's progress.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License with NO points, etc.
- Proven experience in construction management and scheduling.
- Solid background in the construction industry, especially: project scheduling, budgeting, inventory control, quality control, and blueprint reading.
- Strong supervisory experience.
- Communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and utilize power tools when necessary.
