TECHNICIAN POSITION

CLASS TITLE: CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN

REPORTS TO: SIGN AND PAVEMENT MARKINGS SUPERVISOR

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs a variety of semi-skilled and limited skilled duties as part of a crew engaged in a variety of projects involving the light construction of Multiple Civil & Department of Defense Projects in accordance with Civil or DOD project site specifications & safety procedures including but limited to pavement markings, traffic signage, parking access revenue control systems. May serve as a lead worker for a crew of pavement marking, signage fabrication & installation as a Technician/Laborer.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

Assists with Paint Striping for various pavement marking projects including other markings such as stop bars, crosswalk boundaries, handicap symbols, directional arrows, way finding, lane lines, parking lot/multi level parking structures, Civil Airports & Military installation infrastructure.

Performing physical tasks on a construction site, including area preparation & layout for site material installations. Complies with project drawing specifications to ensure accuracy.

Assists with fabrication & installation of various types of signage for parking lot, multi level parking structures, roadway, Civil Airports & Military installations infrastructure.

Performs organizing, loading/unloading & transporting of equipment & materials,

Sets up appropriate traffic control and warning devices all while adhering to safety regulations.

Performs other related duties as assigned including but limited maintaining cleanliness of striping/painting & various support equipment.

Work Flexible schedules during both winter operations and summer Striping operations & Signage installations including overtime only as required of all positions within this class specification.

Mandatory compliance with all safety protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to additional site specific protective devices.

Outdoor construction sites, often exposed to weather elements including potentially noisy and dusty work environment.

Interact professionally with customers, co-workers, trade partners, and suppliers.

PAINT REMOVAL TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT SEMI-AUTOMATIC PAINT MACHINES

FRONT END LOADERS MECHANICAL HYDRAULIC TOOLS

AIR COMPRESSORS HAND AND SHOP POWER TOOLS

PAVEMENT LINE REMOVERS RIDE-ON VACUUM MACHINE

PNEUMATIC POST DRIVER EQUIPMENT PORTABLE BAND SAW

OFFICE EQUIPMENT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: COMPUTERS,

SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS, COPIERS, LARGE FORMAT PLOTTERS & PRINTERS.

PREFERRED ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years recent employment relative to active light, heavy, new or existing site construction work.

Mandatory Requirements: Department of Defense eligible for a security clearance. (Typically no felony charges).

Current Drivers License (Clean Driving Record).

Drug Testing prior to employment. (Negative results).

U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) E-Verify compliant.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Physical strength and endurance: Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.

Hand-eye coordination: Precisely operating tools and equipment.

Teamwork skills: Collaborating effectively with other construction workers and supervisors.

Basic math skills: Understanding measurements and calculations for tasks of layout marking,

material fabrication & installation.

Safety awareness: Knowledge of construction safety procedures and regulations.

REPORTS TO: SIGN AND PAVEMENT MARKINGS SUPERVISOR

Hourly Pay: Minimum $28.00 - $34.00

Hourly Pay Range will require verification and demonstrated abilities, skills and experience.

Employment: Part Time – Flexible (Possible Full Time in the near future)

Schedule: Monday – Friday (Limited out of Area Work) & (Weekends as needed)
