Job DescriptionSalary: $25 per hour

We are seeking a Billing Specialist to join our team on a contractor/part-time basis, with the potential for a full-time role. Initially, this position will focus primarily on credentialing, invoicing/patient statements, and denial management. Over time, as the role transitions to full-time, responsibilities will expand to include claims submission and processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Credentialing & Provider Enrollment:
    • Credentialing and re-credentialing process for providers.
    • Ensure all provider enrollment applications and supporting documents are accurately completed and submitted.
    • Maintain up-to-date credentialing records and track expiration dates.
    • Attest to keep the provider directory updated.
  • Invoicing & Patient Statements:
    • Generate and distribute invoices and patient statements in a timely manner.
    • Ensure invoices are accurate and reflect proper services rendered.
    • Address patient and insurance inquiries related to billing statements.
    • Maintain and stay up to date with privacy regulations.
  • Denial Management & Appeals:
    • Investigate, track, and resolve denied or rejected claims.
    • Submit corrections and appeal claims as necessary.
    • Identify trends in denials and work with relevant departments to improve processes.

Future Responsibilities (Upon Full-Time Conversion):

  • Claims Submission & Processing:
  • Prepare and submit insurance claims for private insurance, and Medicaid.
  • Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid or rejected claims.
  • Ensure compliance with payer guidelines and billing regulations.
  • Reporting & Compliance:
    • Maintain accurate financial records and billing documentation.
    • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must reside in Illinois, Indiana, or North Carolina to be considered for this position
  • Experience inmedical billing, generating patient statements, credentialing (CAQH), lllinois Medicaid (Illinois IMPACT system) and denial management.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance reimbursement policies and claim appeals.
  • Experience with Waystar and Kareo (preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Position Details:

  • Employment Type: Contractor/ Part-Time (6 month contract) (Temp to Perm Full Time)
  • Part Time/In-Office: 20-25 hours per week
  • Pay: $25 per hour
