Job Summary
A confidential, global medical device contract manufacturing company is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new business growth and support strategic customer relationships at its Tucson, AZ manufacturing site.
This is a hands-on, onsite role responsible for winning new programs, expanding existing accounts, and partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, and Quality in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities in medical device, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical drug delivery markets
- Develop and execute a territory-specific sales plan focused on growing the Tucson manufacturing operation
- Manage and expand assigned customer accounts, including pricing, forecasting, and margin improvement
- Lead quotation review and proposal development, working with estimating and plant leadership on costing and pricing models
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure commercial and operational alignment
- Conduct regular customer visits and support onsite customer meetings
- Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasts, and customer data in Salesforce CRM
- Represent the company at trade shows and industry events
- Travel up to 75%, including overnight travel
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 7–10+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, or account management within:

- Medical device manufacturing
- Contract manufacturing
- Custom injection molding or plastics manufacturing
- Proven track record of closing new business year over year
- Strong understanding of manufacturing pricing, margins, and cost structures
- Experience working directly with plant leadership and cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office (advanced Excel a plus)
Preferred Experience
- Medical device, diagnostics, or pharmaceutical drug delivery markets
- Regulated manufacturing environments (ISO, FDA)
- Multi-year program or platform sales
