A hospital in Pooler, GA is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN with solid Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience for a travel opportunity. This role requires clinical expertise in managing patients with a combination of med-surg and stepdown acuity, including conditions like sickle cell disease and heart failure.

Key Qualifications:
- Current RN license with a minimum of 2 years hospital experience in a similar size and acuity facility
- Successful completion of at least one travel nursing contract
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency with telemetry and patient monitoring equipment (Space Lab monitors)
- Experience in titrating set-rate drips in a PCU setting
- Ability to pull labs independently; phlebotomy is not required
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care on a 12-bed combined med-surg/stepdown unit with nurse-patient ratios ranging from 1:4 to 1:5 depending on patient acuity
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to manage complex patient needs including respiratory support with nasal, face masks, and BiPAP devices
- Participate in unit-specific orientation including computer skills training and preceptor-shift mentorship
- Adhere to unit policies including dress code (navy scrubs), weekend and holiday rotation, and self-scheduling options
- Charge nurse responsibilities may include managing assignments during shifts
Shift & Schedule:
- Self-scheduling available with every other weekend and holiday requirements
- No float or on-call duties required
