The CT Technologist plays a vital role in operating computed tomography machinery to generate diagnostic medical images. Adherence to safety protocols, expertise in radiology systems, and maintaining certifications such as CPR and ARRT registration are essential. The CT Technologist interprets exam orders, produces CT and diagnostic images, and is responsible for positioning and transferring patients. This role requires selecting appropriate technical parameters tailored to each patient and operating equipment as instructed. Ensuring safety standards are met is crucial, as is assisting physicians with the administration of contrast agents and medications. The technologist will also oversee specific areas of responsibility related to CT and specialized imaging techniques. Proficiency in operating all relevant equipment, including the computerized radiology information system and office tools, is necessary. Team collaboration is expected during weekend and evening shifts, and any personnel or procedural incidents should be reported to the Section Manager. The role may involve working in specialized areas as needed and recommending equipment maintenance and procurement. Maintaining current CPR certification and providing first aid when necessary is also part of the responsibilities. Continuous education to meet credentialing agency requirements is expected.

Key Responsibilities:
- Interpreting orders for exams and producing CT and diagnostic images.
- Positioning and transferring patients safely.
- Selecting appropriate technical factors for each patient.
- Operating equipment as directed while ensuring safety standards are upheld.
- Assisting physicians with the administration of contrast agents and medications.
- Managing designated areas of responsibility for CT and specialized imaging techniques.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Relevant experience deemed sufficient for the role.
- Education: Completion of formal training in Radiologic Technology.
- Certifications: State licensure may be necessary based on the practice location. A.R.R.T. registration or eligibility upon hire, with A.R.R.T. certification to be obtained within six months of employment.
