Job DescriptionDescriptionFrontier Psychiatry aims to improve the emotional, behavioral, and physical well-being of rural communities by delivering scalable, timely, and evidence-based interventions in psychiatry and addiction medicine. Since its launch in March 2020, Frontier Psychiatry has expanded its telehealth services across Montana, Idaho, and Alaska. Our long-term goal is to be the solution to the mental health and addiction crisis in rural America, expanding our footprint by two states per year for the next six years.
As a Physician Assistant at Frontier Psychiatry, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. This role involves providing compassionate, high-quality care through telehealth, prescribing medications, and developing comprehensive treatment plans. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for patients. Experience in geriatric, addiction, or perinatal mental health is highly preferred
Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients using evidence-based practices.
- Prescribe medications and therapeutic treatments for mental and behavioral disorders.
- Provide timely, patient-centered care tailored to each patient's needs.
Collaboration:
- Work with mental health professionals, family members, and primary care providers to monitor and adjust treatment plans.
- Maintain professionalism and clear communication with patients and colleagues.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Professional Development:
- Stay informed about advancements in psychiatry, including new medications and treatments.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Education, Experience & Requirements
Education & Certification:
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies required.
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Psychiatry is highly preferred.
- State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physician Assistant.
Experience:
- Experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and telehealth platforms.

- In-depth knowledge of psychiatric disorders, treatments, and medications.
- Excellent communication skills for patient and team interactions.
- Ability to develop tailored treatment plans and adapt to patient needs.
- Strong attention to detail and professionalism.
