About the Role:
LHH is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable EMS Coding Specialist to join a fantastic healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately assigning ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for emergency medical transport services. This role ensures compliance with billing and documentation standards to support timely and accurate claims processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign and prioritize ICD-10 codes for EMS claims
- Apply knowledge of CPT/HCPCS and payer requirements
- Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA
- Communicate documentation issues and coding trends
- Support quality assurance and documentation improvement
What We’re Looking For:
- 2+ years of EMS-specific ICD-10 coding experience. **EMERGENCY SERVICES CODING EXPERIENCE IS A REQUIREMENT**
- Medical Coding Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Details:
Schedule: Regular Hours: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM (flexible). Schedule during Training: (2 weeks) Mon–Fri, 8 AM – 4 PM
Location: Onsite in Phoenix, AZ 85008. (Office is moving to Tempe, AZ in August 2025)
Pay: $23.80–$30.16/hr (depending on years of experience)
