Job Title: TIG Welder
Job Description
This role focuses on precision TIG welding and fabrication of primarily stainless steel components, with additional work on carbon steel and exotic metals. You will perform high-quality welding, straightening, cutting, and metal finishing using gas and electric welding equipment in a manufacturing environment that supports critical applications. The position requires strong technical accuracy, adherence to welding procedure specifications, and consistent documentation to meet rigorous quality assurance standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding on 7-gauge and 5/8-inch plate materials, as well as laser welding on thin gauge materials down to 16–18 gauge, with occasional MIG welding as needed.
- Receive and interpret instructions, blueprints, and work orders, and plan the details of the working procedure, including tools, materials, and sequencing.
- Fabricate components by cutting, burning, straightening, and welding a variety of metals, including stainless steel, carbon steel, and exotic alloys.
- Read, understand, and execute work in accordance with WPS and other relevant welding documents to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Organize and perform record-keeping tasks such as weld mapping on complex weldments to maintain full traceability of materials and welds.
- Use calibrated precision measuring instruments, including a Faro Arm, to verify that fabrication tolerances and dimensional requirements are met.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in TIG welding (GTAW) on stainless steel, including plate and thin gauge materials.
- Demonstrated proficiency in GMAW (MIG/FCAW) welding processes.
- Minimum of five (5) years of welding experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through successful completion of certification tests.
- Ability to weld in test positions 1G, 2G, and 3G on complete joint penetration welds using TIG and MIG processes on stainless steel.
- Proven experience in stainless steel fabrication, including cutting, burning, straightening, and welding.
- Strong blueprint and mechanical drawing reading skills, including the ability to interpret tolerances, fits, and process control requirements.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and other welding-related documentation.
- Experience with grinding, polishing, and metal finishing of welded components.
- Basic proficiency with MRP systems for daily production and material tracking tasks.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain traceability of materials and welds.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate of Arts degree in a related field may substitute for up to two (2) years of welding experience, subject to meeting certification requirements.
- Accredited trade or vocational welding certificate may substitute for up to one (1) year of welding experience, subject to meeting certification requirements.
- Experience with laser welding of thin gauge materials (16–18 gauge).
- Familiarity with welding and fabrication of exotic metals in addition to stainless and carbon steel.

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $79497.60/yr.
