Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist
Location: Elmhurst, NY 11373
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $35 – $39 per hour
Position Summary
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic services in an acute care setting. This role involves working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to support patients with complex medical conditions while delivering patient-centered, evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function

Develop individualized treatment plans and deliver appropriate therapeutic interventions

Perform bedside and instrumental dysphagia assessments for medically complex patients

Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical outcomes

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and facility standards

Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and rehabilitation teams to coordinate care

Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication and swallowing disorders, recovery expectations, and home strategies

Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and quality improvement initiatives

Adhere to patient safety, infection control, and professional practice standards
Qualifications

Active New York State Speech Language Pathologist license (NYSED) — required

Minimum 2 years of acute care experience managing medically complex patients

At least 1 year of experience as a Speech Clinician, including dysphagia evaluation and treatment

BLS certification preferred

Strong clinical judgment, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
