The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in supporting dental professionals within a small dental office environment. This position involves assisting with general dentistry, orthodontics, and oral surgery procedures, while maintaining a high level of patient interaction. The assistant will manage patient preparation, sterilization, instrument handling, and support radiography, ensuring smooth operation of daily functions using Open Dental software for records and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and dental treatment areas for procedures
• Maintain sterilization and infection control standards
• Handle dental instruments and assist in dental procedures
• Manage patient records and appointment scheduling using Open Dental software
• Support dental radiography efforts during patient care
• Maintain and sanitize dental equipment
• Communicate effectively with patients for education and comfort
• Manage inventory of dental supplies and materials

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in dental assisting
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of dental radiography and infection control procedures
• Familiarity with sterilization techniques and dental software such as Open Dental
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
• Good time management and organizational skills
