Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable Clerk I to join our accounting team in Gardena. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a range of accounts payable tasks including processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and ensuring timely and accurate payment of all vendor obligations. This position is essential to maintaining strong vendor relationships and accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities
• Process vendor invoices accurately and timely using NetSuite
• Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices to ensure completeness
• Perform freight accruals and apply appropriate codes to expenses
• Research and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies
• Reconcile vendor statements and ensure all outstanding issues are addressed
• Ensure vendor discounts are captured and applied
• Handle credit card transactions and employee expense reports
• Post daily cash transactions
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date AP ledgers
• Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Assist with audits and provide documentation as needed
• Identify and communicate internal control concerns and potential fraud issues
• Contribute to process improvements and automation initiative
Qualifications
• B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience
• Strong 10-key and data entry skills
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping and general accounting principles
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Experience with NetSuite preferred
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
