Role Description The Outpatient Therapist is a part-time role based in Sacramento, CA with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing a combination of on-site and work-from-home responsibilities. The therapist provides individual, group, and family counseling to clients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders, using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches. Day-to-day tasks include conducting biopsychosocial assessments, developing and updating treatment plans, documenting services in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards, and coordinating care with internal team members and external providers. The role involves facilitating recovery-focused groups, supporting relapse prevention efforts, and connecting clients to community resources as needed. The therapist also participates in team meetings, case consultations, and quality improvement activities to support high-quality, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• Clinical expertise in Treatment Planning and Case Management to develop, implement, and monitor individualized recovery plans.

\n

• Background in Social Work and Psychology to provide comprehensive behavioral health assessment, counseling, and support.

\n

• Skills in Family Therapy to engage families or support systems in treatment and promote healthy communication and recovery environments.

\n

• Current licensure or registration in a relevant field (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, Psychologist, or eligible associate registration) in the state of California.

• Experience working with individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders in outpatient or community-based settings.

\n

• Knowledge of evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices in behavioral health care.

\n

• Strong documentation, organizational, and time management skills, including proficiency with electronic health records.

\n

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with clients, families, and community partners.

\n

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field.
