Job DescriptionSalary: $18-$20/HR
Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Receives materials & products.
- Maintains warehouse inventory and database.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items of incoming materials to verify information against bills of lading, invoices.
- Coordinates and schedules the movement of inventory throughout the facility & warehouse, including storage and shipment of finished products.
- Makes product labels & placards as necessary.
- Assists in staging raw materials, finished goods, and assets in the Shipping/Receiving are of the facility & warehouse. Maintaining accurate data.
- Unpacks & examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items and records shortages.
- Implements daily plan, arranging for excess stock to be stored in warehouse.
- Confirms availability of items to be shipped by verifying inventory records or conducting inventories of required items.
- Identifies and reports slow-moving product and with approval, arranges for the removal of the product.
- Manually handles, repacks, or restacks pallets of finished product as needed.
- Documents all related activities and completes forms and reports.
- Uses hand truck to move, convey or hoist from shipping/receiving area to storage or work area.
- Assist with Shipping functions as needed.
- Operates Box Truck (non-CDL) between main facility & warehouse.
- Performs other related duties as directed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn company product codes and terminology.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
- Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to inventory.
Education and Experience:
- Valid Drivers License
- Ability to pass a DOT physical (non-CDL)
- Min. 3 years of work experience in a warehouse required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift & move up to 50 pounds at times.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time & move around the warehouse as needed to perform job duties.
