Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This full-time, contract opportunity is for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing serving K-12 students in the Franklin area. The position requires a Tennessee teaching license with a Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement. Starting in January and running through May 22, 2026, this role offers a chance to work directly on-site supporting students with hearing impairments.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Tennessee teaching license with DHH endorsement
- Experience working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing preferred
- Ability to manage a caseload of K-12 students with hearing impairments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within school teams
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) aligned with student needs
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with families, staff, and related service providers to support student success
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities
Location and Schedule:
- On-site position based in the Franklin area, Tennessee
- Full-time hours with caseload and school assignment to be determined
- Contract duration: January 2026 through May 22, 2026
