Position: Jr Demand Planner
Department: Demand Planning, Supply
Reports to: Demand Planning Associate Manager
Location: Portland, OR (Hybrid in office 3-days/week)
Job summary: The Demand Planner supports the demand planning process by assisting with forecasting, inventory monitoring, and production planning activities. This role partners closely with the Demand Planning Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate data, timely reporting, and strong customer service levels. The position is ideal for an early-career professional seeking to build skills in forecasting and supply chain planning.
Essential job functions:
- Assist in preparing monthly demand forecasts for the assigned Categories using historical sales and order data
- Support analysis of historical sales, trends, and promotions to inform forecast inputs
- Incorporate inputs from Sales, Marketing, and Product teams into demand plans
- Support the process for the forecast on new products with analysis of previous similar products
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and training opportunities
- Prepare inventory reports including availability, slow movers and closeouts
- Assist in creating dashboards and planning reports for management review
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and data accuracy
- Comfortable working in Excel and spreadsheet-based analysis.
- Basic understanding of demand planning, inventory management, or supply chain concepts.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Organized, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, finance, analytics, operations, or related field preferred.
- 0–2 years’ experience in supply chain, planning, operations, inventory, or data analysis roles.
- Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing, operations, or planning environments is a plus.
- Exposure to ERP/MRP systems preferred but not required.
