Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and weld production parts using blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions.
- Operate welding equipment, saws, grinders, sanders, and hand tools safely.
- Identify and use the correct gas, wire, and cutting tools (oxy-acetylene, plasma torch).
- Perform groove, fillet, lap, and butt welds with precision.
- Ensure weld quality and inspect for defects.
- Build basic fixtures and straighten welded parts.
- Drill, tap, and weld up to 2-inch holes.
- Maintain equipment and tools.
Qualifications:
- 6+ months of sheet metal or metalworking experience.
- Proficiency in MIG welding and basic arithmetic.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and instructions.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- D 1.1 certification (or ability to obtain).
