A nursing opportunity is available for professionals with PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) and perioperative experience in Madison, WI. This contract position focuses on delivering high-quality care in preoperative and postoperative settings within a cutting-edge hospital environment.
Responsibilities include preparing patients for surgery in both inpatient and outpatient statuses, managing Phase II recovery with pain control and discharge education, and providing comprehensive post-anesthesia care. The role involves patient assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and coordinating necessary care during the immediate post-anesthetic period. Additionally, nurses may be required to float between units based on staffing needs.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Minimum two years of acute care nursing experience within the last three years.
- Proficient in PACU/recovery room nursing.
- Skilled in pre-op and Phase II post-op RN assistance.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system, preferably within the past 12 months.
- Wisconsin RN license or compact license from a permanent address state.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association.
- Basic arrhythmia monitoring experience; successful completion of a telemetry test required prior to assignment.
Shift Schedule:
- Day shifts, Monday through Friday.
- 5 shifts per week, each 8 hours (05:00 15:30).
