We’re seeking a hands-on, strategic leader to serve as the Head of Sales & Marketing Operations for one of the nation’s leading distributors of event, party, and craft supplies. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Co-develop and execute the company’s “go-to-market” strategy across all sales channels (B2B, B2C, wholesale, and e-commerce).
- Serve as a key partner to ownership to ensure accountability, operational alignment, and profitable growth.
- Foster a high-performance culture of clarity, responsibility, and continuous improvement.
E-Commerce & Digital Sales
- Lead all digital platform development, management, and optimization (B2B portals, B2C platforms, and third-party sites).
- Transition legacy sales models to digital-first channels.
- Oversee marketing, promotions, SEO/SEM, and digital advertising strategy.
- Manage all digital assets and content lifecycle.
- Build and lead cross-functional and international teams.
Inside Sales & Customer Service
- Oversee legacy and emerging sales/service teams to strengthen customer retention and acquisition.
- Develop custom KPIs, implement regular performance reviews, and coach for improvement.
- Launch and scale an outbound sales program targeting new accounts.
- Enhance policies and processes for consistency and scalability.
Wholesale & Trade Shows
- Manage and attend key industry events (e.g., ASD Las Vegas); identify and evaluate new trade show opportunities.
- Rebuild and manage a nationwide network of outside representatives.
- Oversee annual catalog production and related marketing materials.
Operations & Logistics
- Supervise warehouse operations, B2B/B2C logistics, and fulfillment.
- Scale B2C “pick and pack” capabilities to meet growth targets.
- Oversee daily operational performance and cross-departmental collaboration.
Additional Responsibilities
- Achieve and exceed sales, revenue, and profit growth targets across all channels.
- Maintain robust project management discipline with clear deadlines and deliverables.
- Provide accurate forecasts and actionable market insights.
- Recruit, train, and mentor staff across departments.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of leadership experience managing inside/outside sales teams.
- Proven success in B2B, B2C, and distributor sales, preferably within consumer goods, general merchandise, or party/craft industries.
- Expertise in both traditional wholesale and digital sales models.
- Strong background in marketing strategy, e-commerce, and logistics management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and motivate diverse teams.
- High energy, integrity, and ownership mentality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, MBA a plus.
- Spanish proficiency strongly preferred.
- Willingness to travel (10–15%, including domestic and international).
