About the Role

H2Bravo is seeking a Certified Asbestos Inspector to perform asbestos inspections for residential properties participating in federally funded housing recovery programs. The inspector will identify asbestos-containing materials, collect samples, and prepare inspection reports that support environmental review compliance.

This position supports environmental assessments conducted as part of housing rehabilitation and reconstruction activities under disaster recovery programs.

Qualifications

Required Certifications (must provide proof)

  • State or EPA recognized Asbestos Inspector certification
  • Certification must be current and in good standing

Required Experience

  • Knowledge of asbestos inspection procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Experience identifying and sampling asbestos containing materials in residential structures
  • Experience preparing asbestos inspection reports and documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting HUD funded housing programs or environmental reviews
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance requirements for housing rehabilitation programs
  • Experience coordinating with contractors and construction teams
  • Experience working with inspection databases or mobile reporting tools

Responsibilities

  • Conduct asbestos inspections in residential structures funded through housing recovery programs
  • Identify suspected asbestos containing materials and collect samples following approved protocols
  • Document inspection findings and photograph field conditions
  • Prepare asbestos inspection reports summarizing findings and recommended actions
  • Coordinate site access with homeowners, contractors, and program staff
  • Maintain proper sample handling and chain-of-custody procedures
  • Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, state environmental regulations, and program requirements
  • Upload inspection documentation into the program system of record
