Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An educational opportunity is available for a dedicated professional skilled in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing within a K-12 setting. This full-time contract position offers the chance to work closely with students to support their academic and communication development in a specialized learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across K-12 grade levels
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Utilize various communication methods, including sign language, to facilitate effective learning
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Engage with families and staff to promote inclusive educational practices

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure in teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
  • Demonstrated experience working with students in K-12 educational settings
  • Strong knowledge of communication modalities common in Deaf education
  • Ability to design and adapt curriculum suitable for diverse learner needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
