Summary:

As a member of our Industrial Engineered Sales Team, you will be responsible for promoting, selling, and supporting industrial equipment including pumps, blowers, vacuum pumps, repair parts, and related systems. We serve a variety of industries including water/wastewater, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, lubrication, oil and gas, and more. This role involves building customer relationships, understanding application needs, providing technical solutions, equipment sizing and selection, preparing quotes, troubleshooting, and conducting customer site visits. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical/technical background and excellent communication skills, with a willingness to learn and grow in a hands-on industrial environment.

Responsibilities of the Industrial Sales Professional include, but are not limited ti:

  • Sales and Distribution: Actively promote and sell industrial equipment to customers across multiple markets while developing a strong understanding of their applications and needs.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with both existing and prospective customers while providing exceptional service and support.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to clients, including installation guidance, troubleshooting, locating technical documentation, and offering product maintenance support.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed on new technologies, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify business opportunities and support company growth.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal team members to develop and support new opportunities for General Repair.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and product feedback.

Qualifications of the Industrial Sales Professional include, but are not limited to:

  • Proven experience in industrial sales, preferably in pump distribution or a related industry preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical manuals and documents.
  • Technical knowledge of pumps, air, and/or hydraulic systems and applications preferred.
  • Background in math, engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Strong time management skills with a self-motivated and proactive work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency with computers and internet-based tools, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Professional email communication Digital file organization and management. Use of digital calendars and scheduling tools.
  • Must obtain a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record according to company guidelines.

Additional Information:

  • Pay Range: $60,000-$100,000 (DOE) + Commission
  • Physical Demand: N/A
  • Training/Certifications: N/A
  • Shift Time/Overtime: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
  • Travel: Ability to travel as required for customer site visits, meetings, training, and industry events
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required

DXP offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time regular employees, normally working a minimum of 30 hours per week, including: medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account, paid holidays, life and disability insurance, and additional supplemental benefits.
