We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to apply composite materials and manufacturing processes to create production-ready processes that meet customer requirements. The role involves selecting materials, creating and maintaining BOMs, and ensuring compliance throughout the product value chain.

Responsibilities

  • Apply composite materials and manufacturing processes to meet customer product requirements.
  • Select materials and consumables, create and maintain BOMs.
  • Identify Key Product Characteristics (KPCs), manage, control, and assure compliance throughout the product value chain.
  • Design, qualify, and implement tools, fixtures, and equipment for developing textiles, preforms, or composite parts.
  • Work closely with the operations team to meet technical customer requirements within program schedule and budget.
  • Provide configuration board authority for engineering, including change definition, qualification, and approval.
  • Investigate defects or process failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Define criteria for production readiness and qualify developed processes, procedures, and tooling/fixtures.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality System Procedures and internal governing documents.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and assess costs/benefits.
  • Communicate and implement approved process improvements.
  • Provide engineering/technical project updates and communications to internal and external customers.
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to the engineering organization.
  • Identify and support organizational process improvement initiatives.
  • Support new business development by preparing proposals and supporting quotations.
  • Revise quotations to ensure compensation for work associated with program scope changes.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in manufacturing/process engineering.
  • Preferred 10+ years of experience in Aerospace Composite.
  • BS Engineering degree required; Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
  • Experience with new product introduction or product design and development process.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, manufacturing methods, production processes, quality control, and costing.
  • Proven experience with manufacturing process control methods and tools, such as root cause analysis, SPC, and manufacturing process qualification.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with engineering change process, material review process, document control, and quality control systems.

Work Environment

This is a 6-month contract position, requiring product delivery by May, followed by clean-up activities. The position offers the opportunity to work on impactful programs and showcase your experience. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. There are three openings available.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Valencia, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $63.46 - $91.34/hr.
