Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into an impactful role supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in the Baltimore area. This contract opportunity places you alongside a team of dedicated professionals, providing vision services to a focused cluster of schools. You’ll participate in a hybrid model, delivering in-person support and joining IEP meetings virtually from onsite locations, minimizing travel and maximizing your ability to make a difference.

Start dates run from late August through mid-June, with flexibility for full-time or part-time engagement depending on your needs, as long as full school days are completed.
Key Qualifications:
- Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) teaching certificate with Vision endorsement required
- Experience supporting students with visual impairments in an educational setting
- Strong Braille proficiency preferred; if Braille is a particular strength, you may work with a smaller, more centralized set of schools
- Comfort adapting to varying caseloads and travel within a designated cluster
- Ability to attend virtual IEP meetings from assigned school sites
- Compliance with credentialing requirements, including background check, fingerprinting, and employment history review in accordance with state regulations
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide direct vision services to students as outlined in their IEPs
- Support students across multiple school sites within a close geographic area
- Attend and contribute to virtual IEP meetings on a school-based hybrid schedule
- Collaborate regularly with a well-established team, including other TVIs and Orientation & Mobility specialists
