About the Role

As a Mechanical Assembler (Manufacturing Operator B), you’ll support production by assembling components, performing sub‑assembly work, completing washing and rework tasks, and loading pallets. You’ll follow detailed work instructions, use hand and power tools to build and test assemblies, and help maintain quality standards that ensure customer satisfaction. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on mechanical work, problem‑solving, and contributing to a high‑performing production team.

🔧 What You’ll Do

  • Prepare Work — Review job packets, gather parts, tools, and materials.
  • Mechanical Assembly — Assemble components and sub‑assemblies following standard work procedures.
  • Quality Verification — Inspect parts using visual checks, automated measuring tools, and final test equipment.
  • Perform deburring, grinding, and basic machine operation tasks.
  • Operate Test Stands to verify product performance.
  • Assist Engineering with troubleshooting assembly or performance issues.
  • Resolve issues affecting specifications and escalate concerns to the Line Lead or Supervisor.
  • Document production and quality information accurately, including scrap tags.
  • Escalate issues related to tools, equipment, missing components, or quality concerns.
  • Maintain product quality by following standard work, scrap procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Promote a clean, safe work environment and follow all PPE requirements.
  • Contribute to daily metrics and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards to support an organized, productive workspace.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.

🧰 Essential Skills

  • 6+ months of manufacturing experience
  • Mechanical assembly experience preferred
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely
  • Experience meeting productivity standards on an assembly line
  • Basic machine operation (deburring, grinding)
  • Ability to read work instructions and job packets
  • Ability to use automated measuring and monitoring equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints for correct assembly and fit
  • Strong attention to detail for inspection and quality verification
  • Ability to document production and quality information clearly
  • Willingness to identify and communicate issues proactively
  • Commitment to safety, procedures, and customer requirements
  • Ability to stand for the entire shift

🏭 Work Environment

You’ll work in a very clean, air‑conditioned manufacturing facility. The role requires standing for the full shift and working around moving parts, oils, cleaners, coolants, and occasional loud noise. Eye protection is required in all plant areas, and slip‑resistant safety shoes are expected. Proper PPE — including eye and hearing protection where applicable — must be worn at all times.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.11 - $21.11/hr.
