A-Line Staffing is hiring a Full-Time, On-Site, Chemistry Research & Development Scientist in Franklin Lakes, NJ! (THIS IS A FULLY ON-SITE ROLE, PAY IS $38/HR).
Job Summary
The R&D Scientist II reports directly to the R&D Staff Engineer and plays a key role in delivering technical excellence in applied material, chemical, and biological sciences within the Specimen Management (SM) Business Unit R&D organization. The role involves developing, verifying, and maintaining specimen management solutions for clinical diagnostic markets, with responsibilities spanning lab experimentation, materials assessment, and cross-functional collaboration.
Chemistry Research & Development Scientist Compensation
· The pay for this position is $38/hr
· Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
· A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Chemistry Research & Development Scientist Highlights
· This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- Required Availability: is 12pm-8pm with occasional weekend work
Chemistry Research & Development Scientist Responsibilities
· Represent R&D as an extended team member in technology and product development programs.
· Design and execute experiments to advance development, verification, and evidence generation efforts.
· Prepare samples/prototypes and develop test protocols; document results accurately.
· Conduct root cause analysis for product development and sustaining engineering activities under guidance.
· Maintain laboratory equipment, adhere to Good Laboratory Practices, and ensure lab functionality.
· Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D-Engineering, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory teams.
· Contribute to intellectual property development through patents and invention disclosure records.
· Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative environment.
· Travel as required for conferences, manufacturing sites, or customer visits.
Chemistry Research & Development Scientist Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with TGA and DSC for material testing.
- Core competency in material sciences; familiarity with FTIR, TGA, DSC, and other analytical methods is preferred.
- Experience handling clinical specimens, particularly human blood, is a plus (bloodborne pathogen safety training provided).
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with statistical analysis tools is desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills for complex team interactions.
- Strong learning agility, self-motivated, and willing to engage in hands-on work.
Chemistry Research & Development Scientist Education & Experience
- B.S. or M.S. in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Cell/Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Materials Science, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 2 years of direct laboratory experience. Professional experience preferred alongside MS degrees.
