Assistant Professor of Economics & Finance
Buffalo, NY
Job Duties: Teach three finance courses per semester at the undergraduate and MBA levels in both in-person and hybrid formats; conduct scholarly research in corporate finance and related fields that leads to publication in peer-reviewed journals consistent with AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA) standards; demonstrate effective teaching and provide comprehensive advising and mentoring of students, encompassing both academic progress and career development; develop and revise curricula, course content, and instructional methods to enhance learning outcomes; and contribute to the department, school, and university through service activities such as curriculum development, assessment, and committee participation. Teach college-level finance courses including courses in corporate finance and investments. Design and deliver finance courses in multiple instructional modalities, including traditional in person, hybrid, and online formats. Conduct empirical finance research in corporate finance, financial markets, or related fields using large-scale financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg Terminal, Capital IQ); and perform advanced statistical and econometric analysis utilizing Stata, R, SAS, and Python. Publish working papers with a focus on corporate finance.
Requirements: Ph.D in Finance or closely related field. Must have experience teaching college-level finance courses including courses in corporate finance and investments; designing and delivering finance courses in multiple instructional modalities, including traditional in-person and online formats; conducting empirical finance research in corporate finance, financial markets, or related fields using large-scale financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg Terminal, Capital IQ); and performing advanced statistical and econometric analysis utilizing Stata, R, SAS, and Python. Must also have a demonstrated record of academic scholarship including drafting working papers with a focus on corporate finance.
Salary: $110,000 per year
